Pittsburgh Laravel Development Agency
tripleNERDscore is a McKees Rocks, PA development agency that designs, builds, and maintains custom Laravel applications for Pittsburgh-area companies, with senior engineers handling every project from scoping to launch.
Customer portals. Internal tools. The spreadsheet somebody babysits every Monday. We build applications around the work your team needs to do, then help keep them running as that work changes.
A local partner who works in Laravel
Our office is at 825 Broadway Ave, McKees Rocks, PA 15136, serving Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and organizations beyond the region. Doug Black and our senior engineering team connect the project scope to the code. The people working through your requirements are the people building the application.
That matters when a workflow changes, an integration needs a decision, or an old app arrives without documentation. You can discuss the tradeoffs with the engineers responsible for the result.
What we build in Laravel
Customer and member portals
Accounts, permissions, requests, documents, and reporting in one place, with access designed around the people using it.
Internal tools and workflow automation
Approval flows, dashboards, scheduling, and data entry tools that replace repetitive steps and make the status of work visible.
SaaS platforms and subscriptions
Custom product workflows, account management, billing integrations, and the operational tools needed to support a software product.
Donor and CRM systems
Applications for relationship management, records, and reporting, with integrations scoped around your existing CRM and data.
APIs and connected systems
Connections to systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe, and existing databases. We plan data ownership, permissions, failure handling, and reconciliation alongside the connection itself.
Laravel and Vue interfaces
Interactive portals and dashboards with a Laravel backend and Vue front end. We choose the interface approach around the workflow and the team that will maintain it.
Laravel supports several front-end approaches, including Vue through Inertia and PHP-oriented Livewire interfaces. Those are architecture choices to evaluate for a particular app; see Laravel's front-end guide. We review an existing application's choices before recommending changes.
White Oak Exchange: four systems replaced
We built White Oak Exchange's animal mortality insurance platform with Laravel, Vue, and Inertia, including Ascend integration. In its first launched vertical, the application replaces four systems and saves approximately 15 staff hours per week. As of October 23, 2026, the project team reports approximately $50,000–$500,000 in weekly transaction volume.
Read the White Oak Exchange Laravel case study, including the current results and three additional verticals planned before the end of 2026.
Built with the life of the app in mind
We also build and operate our own Laravel SaaS products. That experience informs how we plan releases, support, upgrades, and the day-to-day work of maintaining an application. Our service engagements focus on your organization and the software it needs.
For your project, we define the workflows to demonstrate, the tests to run, the access to hand over, and what happens after launch. Scope and acceptance criteria make those expectations reviewable before development starts.
Discovery, build phases, and support
- Free initial consultation: discuss the problem, current systems, budget, and whether Laravel fits the job.
- Discovery sprint: map users, roles, workflows, integrations, and risks. Agree on the scope and price of this work separately from the introductory call.
- Fixed-fee build phases: define deliverables, acceptance checks, and review dates for each phase. We agree on scope changes before adding work.
- Launch and ongoing support: plan deployment, handover, monitoring, upgrades, and support responsibilities with your team.

Laravel upgrades, takeovers, and rescues
We take over Laravel applications built by other teams. We start with the repository, dependency and PHP versions, test coverage, hosting, scheduled work, queues, and the parts of the app people rely on most. Then we prioritize stabilization and agree on an upgrade or modernization plan.
Version upgrades need application-specific checks. Laravel's upgrade guide documents changes to review; staging tests and a deployment plan help us assess those changes against your app before release.
For broader website issues, see site rescue services. For an application takeover, include the current Laravel version and known issues in your consultation request.

What to plan for
Hosting, domains, paid software licenses, transaction fees, paid media, and ongoing support are excluded unless selected or included in your final proposal. Native mobile apps, complex commerce, regulated-data requirements, major security incidents, and enterprise migrations need a separate scope. Timing starts after kickoff with content and access ready; it does not confirm team availability.

Laravel development: your questions answered
How much does a custom Laravel app cost?
Our planning range for a focused custom web application starts at $20,000–$40,000 for the base scope. More workflows, permissions, integrations, and data migration increase the estimate. We use discovery to define deliverables and agree on a fixed fee for each build phase before work begins.
How long does it take to build a Laravel application?
The base app scope in our estimator carries an initial delivery allowance of 8–14 weeks after kickoff, with access and requirements ready. That is a planning allowance, not a reserved launch date. Complex workflows, integrations, migration, and review cycles can extend the schedule; we confirm milestones during discovery.
Why Laravel instead of Node, .NET, or a no-code tool?
Laravel is a strong fit for the custom portals, business workflows, APIs, and data-backed applications we build. We compare that fit with your existing systems, team skills, integration needs, and long-term maintenance requirements. If an existing product or another stack meets the need better, that belongs in the scoping conversation too.
Can you take over a Laravel app another developer built?
Yes. We review the repository, documentation, hosting, dependencies, tests, and the workflows your team relies on. We then agree on a stabilization and handover plan before making production changes. Access and recovery options are part of that assessment.
Can you upgrade an old Laravel version?
Yes. We inspect the Laravel and PHP versions, Composer dependencies, integrations, and test coverage to identify the upgrade path. We plan backups, staging checks, database changes, and rollback before deployment. The effort depends on the application and its dependencies, not just the version number.
Do you build the front end too?
Yes. We build the user interface as well as the Laravel application, including Vue-based portals and dashboards. Our White Oak Exchange application uses Laravel, Vue, and Inertia. We assess your existing interface and workflows before recommending a front-end approach or a rewrite.
Where will my app be hosted, and who manages it?
We agree on hosting, account access, deployment, backups, monitoring, and support responsibilities during discovery. The choice depends on the application, data requirements, operating budget, and who will maintain it. Hosting charges and ongoing support are identified separately from the build in the proposal.
Do I own the code?
Code ownership, repository access, account control, and handover are defined in the project agreement before work begins. We identify third-party packages and services separately because their licenses and terms still apply. Bring any specific ownership or procurement requirements to the initial consultation so they can be reflected in the scope.
Do you build mobile apps that connect to a Laravel backend?
Yes. We can scope mobile clients alongside the Laravel APIs, authentication, permissions, and data flows they need. Native mobile app development is a separate scope from the web application budget shown here. We also discuss whether a responsive web application can serve your users first.
Do you work with startups or only established companies?
We work with both, as well as nonprofits and other organizations with custom software needs. For a startup, discovery helps isolate a useful first release and test the assumptions behind it. For an established team, we focus on the workflows, integrations, migration, and support the organization needs to keep operating.
Free Laravel Project Consultation
Tell us what the app needs to do, who will use it, and which systems it needs to connect to. If you are taking over an existing application, share its URL and the issues you know about. We can arrange secure access later.
The first conversation is free. A discovery sprint, audit, or implementation phase is scoped and quoted separately.
