WCAG 2.2 AA Web Development in Pittsburgh

Discuss Accessibility Requirements

tripleNERDscore builds and improves websites for Pittsburgh-area organizations with WCAG 2.2 AA as a standing project requirement. Our McKees Rocks engineers work on accessibility in the design, templates, content, and interactions people actually use.

Accessibility belongs in the project scope

We work with nonprofits, municipalities, higher education, healthcare organizations, and businesses whose websites need to serve people with different access needs. We discuss the audience, important tasks, existing content, and third-party services before deciding what to build or remediate.

W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines provide testable criteria for accessibility. We use WCAG 2.2 AA as the project target and define the pages, components, and user journeys to evaluate.

What the work includes

  • Structure and content: meaningful headings, landmarks, link text, and appropriate image alternatives.
  • Interaction: keyboard navigation, visible focus, predictable controls, and forms with usable labels and error messages.
  • Presentation: contrast, readable layouts, zoom and reflow, and consideration of motion.
  • Evaluation: automated checks plus manual keyboard and assistive-technology checks for the agreed scope, with findings and remediation tracked.
  • Maintenance: editing guidance and review of changes so new content and features do not reintroduce barriers.

Build new or improve what you have

Our engineers can make changes in ExpressionEngine, WordPress, Craft CMS, Shopify, and custom Laravel/Vue applications. We review third-party embeds and document limitations that require action from a vendor or content owner.

We distinguish an accessibility target from a verified conformance result. Evaluation needs to cover the complete experience being claimed; a passing automated scan alone is not a conformance statement.
